Meet at the Shell Filling Station, just of the M80 at 8.15 for a 8.30 departure.
Make our way along the M80, then on to the M8 through Glasgow heading for the ferry port at Wemyss bay. The ferry departs at 10.15, however we must be at the port at least 30 minutes before sailing time. The ferry takes 35 minutes to cross to Rothsey. Cost is £5.50 per bike and £3.05 per passenger. No discount for block ticket sales with Cal Mac.
Breakfast in Rothsey, then a trip round Bute and then head for the ferry at Rhubodach for the ferry on to the Cowal Penin sula. Ferry only takes 5 minutes, cost is £2.90 per bike and £1.10 per passenger. Ferry is timetable is roughly 10 minutes and 40 minutes past the hour.
Once on the mainland we head up the A886 to Strachur for lunch stop.
Onwards to Glen Kinglas and turn left round Upper Loch Fyne to Invererey. Up over the hill on the A819 through Glen Aray to Dalmally, Tyndrum, Strathyre and finish the run at Dobbies in Stirling. Just under 6 hours of driving time, around 200 miles.
Route is for experienced riders only due to the distance and varied grades of A and B class roads.
